On the one hand, technology has given a voice to individuals who might not have been heard otherwise. Social media platforms have made it easier for people to express their opinions and share their perspectives, regardless of their background or location. This has led to a more democratic and inclusive political discourse, where a wider range of voices are heard and represented.

However, this increased access to information has also led to the spread of misinformation and propaganda. The internet is awash with false or misleading information, which can be shared and amplified quickly and easily, leading to confusion and polarization. This can undermine public trust in political institutions and decision-makers, and further erode the quality of political discourse.

Another challenge of technology's influence on political discourse is the way it can exacerbate tribalism and echo chambers. People tend to seek out and consume information that confirms their existing beliefs, rather than engage with opposing viewpoints. As a result, it's easy to become entrenched in one's opinions, leading to greater political polarization.
